The EFC21 control unit is developed for chimney fans installed on gas-fired appliances.
EFC21 is a simple control unit with one button and two LEDs. One LED indicates functionality, i.e., whether you can turn on the gas fireplace and if the chimney fan is running. The other LED lights up if there is an alarm or something wrong with the system.
When you press the button, the chimney fan starts. When the control unit detects sufficient draught in the chimney, the appliance can be ignited. When you turn off the appliance, you can set a 3-minute overrun via the control unit, where the chimney fan runs for 3 minutes after the appliance is turned off, ensuring that all flue gases are out of the chimney.
Since the EFC21 is for gas-fired appliances, the control unit continuously monitors the failsafe system in the chimney fan. If there is no longer sufficient draught in the chimney, the gas supply will be shut off, preventing a gas leak.
The EFC21 must be installed by an authorized electrician, and an isolation switch must be installed on the chimney for the EFC21, which must also be installed by an authorized electrician.
